As I have studied and tried to grow in Spiritual disciplines in my Christian life, I have cherished times in the morning to have what I call a quiet time, an appointment with God, reading His Word, meditating on it, and praying through it. I have grown much by memorizing portions of the Bible, and through daily review, the meditation on those passages has helped me understand God and my faith more. Other helpful disciplines include Bible Study, Prayer, and Witnessing, among others. Over the years, I have come to see these disciplines as opportunities to draw closer to God. They are often presented as invitations, as someone might invite another to have a meal with them. In this section, I would like to look at various opportunities that invite us to come to God, to draw near, to taste and see, to fix my eyes on Jesus, delight yourself in the Lord, trust in the Lord, rest in the Lord, come to me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest, and much more.
